Rope handling is one of the most important skills for a rigger as it can directly affect speed, connection, tension, comfort, beauty, and precision.  This class picks up where Rope Handling I leaves off, rather than focusing on large movements and concepts, this class will focus on improving finger and hand technique to improve tying, refining the use of some skills learned in Rope Handling I, and introduce rope handling techniques and ideas for performance, aesthetics, and suspension.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Students should have taken Rope Handling I or have equivalent knowledge of broader rope handling concepts.  Please bring rope and a partner (or find someone to tie in the class). Beginners are welcome to observe.

BIO:
AndraPoloutropon is a New York City based rigger with a strong interest in “floorwork transitions.” A self-proclaimed “style whore,” he is fascinated by the myriad styles of tying and encourages others to make their own way rather than following a single method as dogma. In addition to style, he holds an abiding interest in rope handling and is dedicated to helping people understand “why” various decisions are made in rope bondage. He has had the privilege of teaching at Shibaricon, TES Fest, and Bound in Boston, and can regularly be found teaching classes on rope theory, handling, and style around the greater NY area.
