Due to recommendations from the medical community, this event has been postponed. Keep an eye out for the rescheduled date. In the meantime, stay healthy! Shermie will teach the basics of “safe” fire play, as oxymoronic as it sounds, including fire fleshing and fire cupping. Within the “What It Is That We Do” community, fire play is considered one of the most dangerous, if not the most dangerous, form of play. It can also be an intensely sensual form of edge play. It’s classified as edge play simply because out-of-control flame could result in terrible consequences. This class will go over safety techniques and basic kinds of fire play. Shermie has been in the scene for well over a decade. Subjects he has taught include fire play, dry and wet (blood) cupping, suturing, pallet wrap suspension and mummification, BDSM and Dungeon 101, as well as needle play. He has also taught about sex, health and kink at Columbia Presbyterian Medical School and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Doors open at 7, class begins at 7:30.
