In this lab-style workshop we will break down what a futomomo is, what makes it work, and of course what makes it fail. After working through the theory of what a futo tie is and some common elements of it, we will all come up with a brand new version of a futo and analyze it to see whether it would work or not. Suspension experience is not required for this workshop, but for those interested in it, futos will be evaluated for suitability in suspension. This class is beginner-friendly and requires only that you know how to tie a single column and a half hitch. One to two hanks of rope will be necessary. While this workshop is not presented as a self-tie activity, the futo lends itself well to being tied on oneself.
