ONLINE – Media Representations of BDSM with TheHeartBreakPup

What attracts mainstream media to develop texts that incorporate BDSM? Is part of changing sexual norms? The need to entertain to sell goods? Or is it, plainly, the shock value? The Heart Break Pup discusses the varied representations of BDSM in the media and what scholars have identified in the broadcasting of BDSM to the masses.

Heart Break Pup is a college professor in the Midwest teaching in the fields of mass media, popular culture and gender. He has published work on popular sports, subcultures and popular music. He has been in the scene for nearly 10 years, mostly in the tri-state area.
