Welcome Newbies!
The Novice
Group meets the second Wednesday of each month,
The Novice Excursion meets the third Saturday of each month
Regardless if you are a brand spanking "newbie"
(person just discovering BDSM) or just new to TES or the public
scene, THE NOVICE GROUP is for you!
SIG CO-Facilitator's: Bo and
Lady D host monthly educational seminars, workshops and frequent
social events geared to the BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Sadomasochism)
newcomer. Their number one goal is to provide you with a safe and loving
atmosphere where you can get the answers to all your many questions
as well as learn both the physical and mental fundamentals of BDSM!
What happens at a TES Novice Meeting? We
start the evening with an approximately hour long presentation, then
we take a short break and come back and do the famous TES Circle. This
is where we all sit in a circle, introduce ourselves briefly (or not
if your shy) and ask questions or give feedback on the presentation
we just saw or any other thing you'd like to talk about. At the end
of the meeting both Bo and Lady D are available to answer any other
questions you might have. After the meeting many of the members go to
a local restaurant for a snack and some more good conversation.
So what are you waiting for? Life is short!
Get off your butt and come on down! You'll be amazed at how welcome
you'll feel. Throw on some comfortable clothes, write down all the questions
you want to ask and get ready to meet a wonderful group of safe, sane
consensual loving people who can help you find what you are looking
for. Although our meetings are primarily for the novice they are open
to everyone, so bring a friend, a stuffed animal, a hand puppet, come
alone, whatever it takes!!! We promise you won't regret it. Remember
we were ALL newbies once!

Novice Excursion
Also don't forget to go to
the Novice Excursion Dinner, held once a month at the Chelsea Gallery
Restaurant. These informal "munches" are a chance to get together with
other newbies and go to either an SM club or SM party. The Novice Excursion
is also hosted by Lady D and Bo
What happens at a TES Novice Excursion? We
meet at a "vanilla" (non BDSM), yet alternative lifestyle friendly,
diner in NYC. You can just walk in and head to the back room of the
diner or tell the person at the register that you are "with TES" and
they will bring you to us.
We usually get a crowd of 15 - 30 people which
includes some long time members of TES mixed in. You'll sit down and
order a snack or some dinner and either make some new friends or just
sit and listen to the conversation. That's up to you.
After about 1 hour at the diner we will all head
over to The "friendly" SM club Paddles or to a private party
(if TES happens to be having one that night). Once there, Bo and
Lady D will be on hand to answer any questions you might have and you
can watch or participate as you desire.
What do I wear to a Novice Excursion? It
really varies. Many people wear casual clothes, while others just wear
what they plan to wear that night and just "cover it up" a bit. While
it's perfectly acceptable to be a little flashy (after all this is NYC)
you'll probably feel most comfortable changing at the club or party
if you plan on wearing full fetish gear!
